In order to commemorate National Children’s Day 2024, the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development or known as Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) supported by Insight Investments Management (Insight IM), through the Education Program pillar, plays an active role in supporting education in Indonesia. National Children’s Day is celebrated as an important momentum to campaign for the fulfillment of children’s rights to live, grow, develop, and participate fairly in accordance with human dignity and dignity, and to receive protection from violence and discrimination.
Reporting from the official website of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (KemenPPPA), National Children’s Day 2024 carries the theme “Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia”, the same theme as the previous year. This theme reflects the government’s commitment to continue to protect children’s rights so that they can develop properly and contribute to the progress of the nation.
Educational assistance was provided by YIIM and Insight IM to children and the community in Cilograng Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. Assisted by the partner of the Antara Cipta Karsa Foundation (Naratas Foundation) through its activity unit called “Gerakan Muda Cendikia” through the 2024 Village Joint Guard program.
Based on the needs analysis at the target location, data and information were obtained that the main problem faced by village communities is access to education due to economic factors, the environment, and the low level of parental awareness of the importance of education. In addition to the issue of access to education, this condition is exacerbated by the free access of children to negative content on the internet.
The 2024 Village Joint Guard program was held on July 13 to 20 2024 in Cilograng Village, Cilograng District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. YIIM with Insight IM and Garda Cendekia provided Cendikia class activities, community reading park facilities and management training, internet security workshops for teenagers, and donations of reading park books. The Village Guard Program has provided better access to education and increased parental awareness of the importance of education for the future of their children.
This activity is part of the YIIM Education Program which is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDGs Number 4 on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and increasing lifelong learning opportunities for all, and Number 17 on partnerships to achieve goals. This program is also a form of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) or corporate social responsibility (CSR) from Insight IM to the community.
YIIM as a non-profit institution is open to support and cooperation with any party so that more people can benefit from YIIM programs and YIIM can spread more inspiration to help develop Indonesia.
Greetings Inspiration!
