The Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Develoment or known as Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in cooperation with Insight Investments Management (Insight IM), plays an active role in providing support for environmental conservation. One of them is providing support for global warming prevention through research and development of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles to the Appatte62 Team of Brawijaya University.
The Apatte62 Team is an energy-efficient car research team that develops vehicles with environmentally friendly fuels in order to save the environment in the future from various emissions that can cause global warming.
YIIM in cooperation with Insight supports the Apatte62 Team in several events, those are the 2024 Indonesia International Hydrogen Summit in Jakarta, the Shell Eco Marathon Asia in West Nusa Tenggara and the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) Energy-Efficient Car Contest in October.
Monday, June 24th 2024, 28 students and 2 field supervisors were sent off at a farewell event held on the 6th floor of the Rectorate Building. Brawijaya University, represented by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H., sent off the Apatte62 Brawijaya Team who will take part in the 2024 Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) competition, July 2 to 6, 2024 at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, an innovation event in designing, building, testing, and driving environmentally friendly vehicles with minimal energy sources. The Apatte62 Brawijaya Team will compete against 80 teams from 12 countries in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. This year’s departure is the third time the Apatte62 team has taken part in the Shell Eco Marathon in Mandalika.
In this year’s SEM, the Apatte62 Team won 2 championships, 1st place for the hydrogen prototype (anagata fcv) and 2nd place for the urban electric (marsela ev). In the previous year, the Apatte62 Team won 1st place for urban electric in SEM 2023 and in SEM 2022, the Apatte62 Team won 1st place for hydrogen prototype and 2nd place for urban electric.
“Insight IM through the Insight Renewable Energy Fund product supports research into environmentally friendly technology that continues to be developed by the Apatte62 team at Brawijaya University. Insight IM sees great potential in the research conducted by the Apatte62 team at Brawijaya University. Not only does it contribute to the development of energy-efficient technology, but it also inspires the younger generation to continue to innovate,” explained Insight IM Director Ria M Warganda.
