The Orphan and Dhuafa Dormitory Building of the Gema Mustika Insani Orphanage, situated in Bulurejo Hamlet, Carangrejo Village, Sampung District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, was inaugurated on Thursday, January 30, 2025 by the Foundation of Inspiration for Indonesia Development, also known as Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), in collaboration with Insight Investments Management Company (Insight IM) and the management of the Gema Mustika Insani Foundation (YGMI).

Mr. Sugiri Sancako, Ponorogo’s Regent, attended the inauguration ceremony, as did representatives from the Ponorogo Social Service, the Ponorogo Tourism Service, the Sampung District, Carangrejo Village officials, community leaders, and orphans. The inaugural activity began at 13.00 WIB, with the reading of the holy verses of the Qur’an, followed by words from Mr. Wijiyono, the YGMI Supervisor. Mr. Sugiri Sancoko then proceeded the remarks and inauguration of the Dormitory Building by symbolically cutting the ribbon and planting coconut seedlings as a philosophical metaphor of new beginnings that benefit the community.

Phase I of the dormitory building began in April 2024, followed by phase II in August 2024 and completion in December 2024. The dormitory building includes six dormitory rooms, a kitchen, a living room, sanitation facilities (including ablution and toilets), and a dormitory hall. Currently, the Orphanage Building has helped 30 orphans, who are living in the dormitory. The dormitory building’s construction aims to provide suitable housing to secure the survival of orphans and the destitute in the future, instill independence via skill development, and enable orphans and the poor to live in an atmosphere free of faiths and borders.

This activity is part of the YIIM Education Program as well as the Social, Humanitarian, and Religious Program, both of which are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 on ending poverty in all forms and SDG 4 on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and increasing lifelong learning opportunities for all. This program is also a kind of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) or corporate social responsibility (CSR) for Insight IM in the community. YIIM, which is backed by Insight IM, is actively involved in giving social, humanitarian, and religious support. One of them is supporting the development of dormitories for orphans and the impoverished.
YIIM, being a non-profit institution, is open to supporting and cooperating with any party to help more people to build Indonesia.
